Current Educational Provision
We have a DfES Registred Independent school. This independent school is for up to a maximum of 15 pupils who for a variety of reasons are unable to have their educational need met by the Local Education Authority.
Our qualified teachers who after consultation with the previous educational placement formulate tailor made individual educational packages designed around the needs of the young person. For fully able pupils we are able to offer the full national curriculum, and whilst this is always our priority, clearly with some youngsters this is not possible during the initial stages of engagement.
Aim
The aim with each of the educational packages is to engage the young person before attempting to identify a suitable educational provision to integrate them back to - be it either a Mainstream or Special Needs provision.
This is done through identifying the subject areas that the young person is succeeding in and allowing them to attend their new placement to undertake these subjects in order that they have a rewarding, and enjoyable sense of achievement there. This enables us to focus on the subjects or behaviours that they are struggling with. These feelings of positive association help create a desire for the young person to want to attend the school that we are integrating them in to.
