Our Mission Statement
We are committed to providing all young people with that opportunity in one form or another, with priority always being to work with and return young people to their own family. We believe that all children are able to succeed in education, and will endeavour to develop an educational and care provision around their own individual need. We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to become an independent positive member of their local community.
Our Aims and Objectives
At Fairways, we recognise that many young people in the care system have been deprived of many of the opportunities in life that most of society take for granted.
Our aim is to replace their poverty, of both aspiration and opportunity, with a safe, healthy environment where the future is filled with opportunity and a positive internal belief system.
Our objective is to initially create a safe place where the child understands that they will not be rejected, prior to enabling them as individuals to come to terms with and understand their past. Only then can we begin working on their future, by enabling them to believe that they can shape their own destiny.
We believe that all young people are products of their past experiences, however the people they will become will be influenced also by the experiences that we give them in their present life. We will always place Education at the centre of every care plan. With emotional and academic advances being our primary goal in every placement. We recognise that the vast majority of young people will have highly complex relationships with their families. Regardless of the difficulties that many professionals may have encountered it is our philosophy never to judge the birth families and in all but the most exceptional of cases continue to actively promote positive relationships between ourselves, the families and the young people at all times.
